Dr Chisako Nonaka works as a faculty coordinator for the JTW (Japan in Today's World) program in the International Student Center, Kyushu University. She is the author of Transcending Self and Other Through Akogare [Desire]: The English Language and the Internationalization of Higher Education in Japan (2018). her research interests include issues of linguistic, racial, ethnic, national, class, and gender-related identities, particularly in transnational education contexts.
